This qualification helps to develop practical teaching skills and, through the optional units, prepares teachers to work in a wide range of contexts. It requires observation and assessment of practice.
This could also be undertaken by individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements, of the qualification; individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements, of the qualification; individuals currently working as Assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification
Learners should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification
Learners must achieve a minimum of 36 credits to gain this qualification.
All units are internally assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a portfolio of evidence using different range of assessment methods such as Observation, Questioning, Professional Discussion, RPL, Product of Work etc
Learners can usually complete the qualification within 12 months.
Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to: Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
