In order to find ways to boost energy efficiency and the proportion of energy Quals Skills buy from renewable and sustainable sources as opposed to fossil fuels, we are reviewing metering and procurement contracts for the delivery of utilities (electricity, gas, and water).
Quals Skills will actively be choosing suppliers with a low carbon policy to establish business partnership working, this is to ensure our own green credentials
Quals skills has gradually encouraged use of Cycles to the premises for staff, learners and delivery partners. We have parking and shelters available for anyone who wish to cycle to our premises. We share sharing information about travel to Quals Skills.
Quals skills will encouraged ‘Walk to School programme’ for learners, partners and staff who are able to walk from short distances to the premises. This programme will be scheduled every Friday on a weekly basis. We will provide any participant with an app which will be installed on their SMART phones that will monitor the time, distance, calories during the course of this activity. We will encourage 5-10 minutes of walking for this activity.
Quals Skills plan to creating and carrying out a travel plan to promote more environmentally friendly commuting and business travel. We will be working towards formally signing up to the Mayor’s initiative on Net Zero by 2030
